Position Summary
The Salesforce Developer leads the ongoing development of our salesforce.com deployment and includes both Administrator (declarative programming) and Developer (coding) responsibilities. This role works closely with functional leaders, organizational units, and subject matter experts to identify develop and deploy new business processes in support of agency management/compliance, submission-clearance-registration-tracking, pipeline management, marketing automation and other emerging business needs. This role operates as a technical project manager, developer, administrator, and Salesforce analyst. The Salesforce Developer is responsible for executing on the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance, and improvement of Salesforce.com across the enterprise.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage Salesforce.com data.
- Support advanced Salesforce.com configuration needs such as process builder/visual flow design and formula creation.
- Wherever possible, utilize declarative functionality to configure Salesforce to achieve business requirements.
- When necessary, utilize programming solutions to code needed functionality where it can’t be handled declaratively.
- Manage all basic administrative functions including user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, workflows and other routine tasks.
- Complete regular internal system audits and prepare for upgrades.
- Manage Salesforce.com data feeds and other integrations.
- Coordinate the evaluation, scope and completion of new development requests.
- Partner with our Business Development, Underwriting, Client Services, and Risk Management teams to establish suitable processes to support administrative, development, and change management activities.
- Assist in training of new users and grow the Salesforce.com skill set across the organization.
- Act as the liaison between our users, vendors and the application development teams.
- Work with BSAs and with members of the user community to define and document development requirements, and translate those requirements into solutions that best leverage the Salesforce platform.
Education, Requirements & Competencies
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, required.
- Minimum five years of experience as a Salesforce Developer.
- Saleforce.com Platform Developer certification(s), required. Salesforce Platform App Builder and/or Salesforce Administrator certification, desired.
- Proven record of success in improving processes and adoption using the Salesforce.com platform.
- Proven ability to design and implement new processes and facilitate user adoption.
- Strong data management and analysis abilities.
- Experience with insurance carrier operations and processes.
- Excellent project management skills and a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests and manage in a matrixed environment.
- Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, deconstruct high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
- Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce.com and all up/downstream applications, systems and processes.
The base salary range for this role is $104,700 - $120,500. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors that are unique to each candidate including geographic location, skill set, experience, qualifications and education.
