Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for functions that support United Cargo's technology strategy for Cargo's Operating system, UC360. The individual leads and is accountable for any work being proposed or performed within the platform. Liaises with business partners, IT counterparts and technology vendor staff to ensure all system-related activities are aligned with strategic direction. Individual is well-educated on system functionality and serves as system expert. In this role, individual takes a commanding role in issue-resolution thereby limiting time required of our field users. In addition, the individual finds opportunities to optimize platform performance potential and realize business goals.
The individual documents, justifies and prioritizes technology related activities among the cross-functional team thereby promoting a "working together" environment and reducing silos (i.e. matrix organization). Individual partners closely with IT and vendor counterparts to coordinate all technology deliverables, including development, maintenance work and enhancement performance measurement for UC360. Individual has a solid command of UC360 capabilities and the vision for United Cargo. This role will need to demonstrate a working knowledge of Cargo's operating system and its capabilities to realize commonalities among various Cargo applications, including but not limited to UC360, Freight and Mail Scanning, CDAP, Nomad and Salesforce.com.
- Support the development and implementation of strategic direction for Cargo's Operating system - Implement the planning and development for technology deliverables to ensure a coordinated approach that aligns with Cargo's strategic direction
- Ensure that strategy and the supporting tactics enable highly competitive capabilities for the Cargo organization
- Coordinate UC360 operational functionality - As a system expert, lead activities associated with system issue-resolution on behalf of the business
- Optimize system performance by identifying and actioning automation and process opportunities
- Manage the user request intake process, including assessing requests for viability and priority
- Partner with collaborators to guide the development and implementation of the workstream, while leveraging a strong working knowledge of the system
- Communication/Relationships - Develops and maintains strong working relationships with key business partners, Cargo IT and technology vendor staff
- Ensures strategy alignment with other internal partners
- Prepares communication on progress for Cargo leadership, to keep them abreast of the status of pending requests and of new developments and in the competitive landscape
Please note: This is a Chicago-based, hybrid role requiring, on average, three days per week in office.
Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
- 3-5 years of proven UC360 (or related) experience
- Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams
- Proven experience in successfully leading & collaborating with stakeholders on technology initiatives
- A strong, hands-on working knowledge of UC360 (or related) functionality and capabilities
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and effectively guide stakeholders
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master's degree
- 3-5 years of experience in functioning as the primary business owner for a technology platform
- Proven experience in the logistics industry implementing strategies for technology initiatives
- Working knowledge Cargo industry technology platforms preferred (competitor platforms) being a subject matter expert (SME) in the noted technology platform
