JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a dynamic CRM Marketing Director to join our Marketing team. You will have the opportunity to re-invent our CRM operations within the communications and marketing function and play a leading role within Miami Herbert’s wider digital and data transformation. You will own the CRM strategy and roadmap, with responsibilities spanning across data management, segmentation, campaign execution, and performance tracking. One of the goals of this position is to create the right data infrastructure using existing tools to enable the School to better engage with prospective and current students, alumni, and other stakeholders. This role will suit you if you are highly collaborative with a positive attitude, as you will lead on projects across Miami Herbert teams.
The Director, Marketing oversees the marketing policies, objectives, and initiatives, and develops marketing plans for the assigned department(s). The incumbent strives to identify target market segments and formulates ways to present institutional products and services to this audience.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
- Analyzes marketing effectiveness and adjusts marketing plans periodically based on results.
- Executes comprehensive branding strategy in a cost-effective manner and ensures long-term brand strategy is achieved.
- Develops new products and services based on market demand.
- Maintains competitive database and action plans to understand and adjust to the marketplace.
- Coordinates marketing campaigns with sales activities and implements customer service programs.
- Prepares and monitors marketing budget to ensure expenditures do not exceed prescribed amounts.
- Mentors and trains marketing staff and acts as a liaison to media and external sources to further the University’s ability to market its services effectively.
- Ensures that all activities are in full compliance with appropriate regulations and institutional policies.
- Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
- Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant business field, Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 7 plus years experience in a higher education environment. Familiarity with best practices in CRM data management and marketing automation. A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered

Department Specific Functions
- Lead CRM Operations: Oversee all aspects of CRM management, including maintaining data integrity, optimizing CRM processes, and ensuring seamless integration with other university systems.
- Campaign Execution: Design and implement targeted marketing campaigns using Slate and Salesforce to enhance student engagement and recruitment efforts.
- Data Segmentation: Develop and manage customer segmentation strategies to personalize communication and improve engagement.
- Performance Reporting: Deliver reports and presentations in simple and accessible ways to business stakeholders to help meet business goals. Use CRM data to generate insights and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Attribution Analysis: Ensure accurate attribution within the CRM to understand how different channels contribute to conversions and engagements.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff on CRM best practices and functionalities. Act as the primary point of contact for CRM-related inquiries and issues.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of CRM and reporting requirements needed to meet the School’s goals.
- System Integration: Partner with IT and other departments to align on data structure, organization, and performance.
- Communication Deployment: Manage the deployment of communications within the CRM, including email campaigns, automated workflows, and other communication strategies.
- Query Building & Dashboards: Develop, manage, and optimize queries within the CRM to extract, manipulate, and visualize data for targeted marketing efforts and reporting. Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations to provide real-time insights and support data-driven decision-making.

Who We Are Looking For:
- CRM Expertise: Slate, Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Experience with data management and marketing automation tools.
- Analytical Skills: Strong experience in measuring marketing ROI, campaign performance, and understanding attribution within the CRM.
- CRM Communication Skills: Proficiency in deploying communications within the CRM, including email campaigns and automated workflows.
- Technical Skills: Ability to build and manage queries within the CRM to extract and manipulate data for targeted marketing and reporting.
- Collaboration: Highly collaborative with the ability to build strong relationships across teams.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Detail-Oriented: High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
