The Salesforce Developer is responsible for participating in and leading all aspects of application design, development, testing, documentation and implementation of custom code-based solutions, assessment of project requirements and required deliverables. The incumbent is responsible for the end-to-end development, implementing the long-term strategy of the Salesforce platform to meet current and future operational functionality as well as assisting in governance, project management activities and other assigned tasks. The incumbent collaborates with various stakeholders, teams members, functional and technical resources, completing tasks and communicating project information while adhering to College’s policies and compliance to various standards.
The Salesforce Developer possesses Salesforce technical knowledge and experience to be able to analyze, design and implement system enhancement, interfaces and integrations between the Student Information System and Sheridan's Salesforce environment, as well as, resolve complex technical problems with existing systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assessing and analyzing requests for enhancements and modifications to the existing corporate information systems and implements where feasible.
- Reviewing requests to determine feasibility of implementation.
- Analyzing business requirements and specifications.
- Recommending possible solutions based on the existing systems and modules as well as the available technologies and business processes.
- Evaluating trade offs amongst numerous alternatives.
- Advising supervisor of significance and scope of enhancement/implementation.
- Developing an implementation strategy including testing procedures.
- Assigning development and implementation tasks to other development staff and ensures tasks are performed.
- Assessing and analyzing the requirements of new administrative systems and modules for design and implementation purposes.
- Meeting with end-users to determine needs, timing and define scope of new projects, modules and enhancements.
- Setting project and implementation standards within the boundaries of Sheridan policies and departmental standards.
- Arranging meetings with users to clarify needs and define scope of the new project, module or interface.
- Analyzing requirements and specifications, in the context of existing systems and modules, business processes and available technologies, to identify and document the impact and advise the user community of the implications.
- Recommending changes to technical and/or business processes and models the system or module to ensure it meshes with existing corporate systems and modules.
- Providing senior technical support to maintain the existing corporate systems
- Troubleshooting complex system and application issues. Tracks and monitors the resolution of reported issues.
- Collaborating with other technical staff within Information Technology (IT) to resolve issues that impact multiple system modules.
- Reviewing technical release documentation for changes to the application that will impact its implementation at Sheridan and advises the user community of these changes.
- Reviewing existing customizations, enhancements and interfaces and determines how they are impacted by the upgrade.
- Providing a lead role in the planning and coordinating of activities related to the upgrade to ensure the upgrade project stays on track.
- Maintaining, developing and sharing technical currency in a rapidly changing environment.
- Researching new products and tools to be used by other OTR staff.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will also meet the following requirements:
- 3-year diploma/degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or a related field (equivalencies will be considered)
- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I/II Certification
- 8-years of experience in Salesforce application development
- Experience with JavaScript, HTML, XML, WSDL, CSS, Jave or C++, REST and SOAP API integrations, Apex Classes, Process Builder, Triggers, Flow, SOQ, SOSL (Salesforce Object Search Language), SQL, DataWeave, Visualforce framework, Aura components, Web services and others.
- Experience integrating Salesforce applications with 3rd party systems using APIs, UI frameworks and event-based integration.
- Experience of Design and developing integrations between Salesforce.com, MuleSoft, PeopleSoft, FormAssembly, .Net and other systems.
- Experience in Salesforce development with strong expertise in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Advance Marketing Cloud, Experience Sites, Success Hub, and others.
